Cute student projects

Sunday, October 15th, 2006

These are vids that V made for his production class.

I will refrain from commenting on these because I always have comments on every aspect that will tear people to shreds. Then again, I do not like people ripping my work to shreds. Anyhow, there is still a lot to improve but just watch how USM students do filming…

Enjoy

Seeing the future… More or less

Saturday, October 14th, 2006

I have been fascinated by Tarot cards for as long as I could remember. My siblings and I were into a lot of weird stuff.

It wasn’t until I was 12-13 that we stumbled upon the I-Ching. We began to do predictions. From there I moved on to reading up on Witchcrafts and astrology. At 14, I met another enthusiast whose grandmother is a medium. We shared a lot of things in common. Anyway, through the discussions, my mind broaden.

By the age of 16-17, I bought my first pack of Tarot cards. Currently I own 4 packs but use only one for actual reading. I also have a mini Ouija board and a Mind board (Though I know how to make one from a piece of paper and a coin), a Mini I-Ching with 3 coins and dice.

I wanted to take a degree in this line but I doubt it will bring me any good. The degree is so rare. My current degree is not helping either.

Anyway, it is said not many people can read the cards right. I can but I hardly do it anymore ever since I predicted a friend’s early death circa 5 years ago.

Yes, I still do it on special occasions. But the only funny thing is, I cannot read my own future. That is one of the unwritten rule for a tarot reader.

I will go and check out websites that offer free reading and the following is one of it.

You Are Death

You symbolize the end, which can be frightening.
But you also symbolize the immortality of the soul.
You represent transformation, rebirth of a new life.
Sweeping away the past is part of this card, as painful as it may be.

Your fortune:

Don’t worry, this card does not predict death itself.
Instead it foreshadows the ending of an era of your life, one that is hard to let go of.
But with the future great new things will come, and it’s time to embrace them.
Mourn for a while, but then face the future with humility and courage.

What Tarot Card Are You?

At times, I do wish I was dead or the person who is giving me the most grief is dead.

I think I jinxed my friend

Thursday, October 12th, 2006

Honestly, I think I jinxed my friend. It is a jinx so bad that hundreds of thousands maybe even millions of people saw it…

No. I did not put a hex on him or went down to Thailand to get the most potent spell. (If I ever did want to get a spell, I prefer made in Malaysian ones… Wait a minute, why am I talking about this irrelavent matter?)

This is what went down…

My childhood friend was on this reality dating game show/competition. I found it hillarious that he would even join such a thing but well he did. Anyway, this is what happened. My brother had told me about this lovey dovey reality show for a while now but I was never too bothered to watch it. I was usually busy or I totally forgot about it.

Anyway, for some weird reason, I remembered that it was on tonight and asked my mum to join me watching it. My mum and I have not seen him since his family relocated down south. Throughout the show, I could not keep a straight face watching it because it was just too weird. I knew him since we were in diapers for crying out loud. Now he is plastered on my idiot box, competing for love?? Weird is not even a proper word to describe it… I am so speechless I cannot find the proper word to elaborate further.

But today proved to be the first and last time I will be watching it. (Unless the final episod brings all the former contestants back) He got ELIMINATED!!!!!

Isn’t it weird? The day I chose to actually watch him on it, was his last?? Oh dear, me! Have I jinxed him by watching it? I believe so…

Well, before I end today’s entry. This is my two cents…

He is a nice kid but placed at the wrong place, at the wrong time and with the wrong people. So sad that most of Malaysia will be judging him based on a few ‘reality’ tv hours. Honestly, he is not like that, I should know.

But if anyone gets any freakish idea that I might date him, needs to get their heads back to reality. This not some soap opera or tv drama serial where childhood friends become lovers and live happily ever after. Yes, hopefuls will go, “But then again…”

OK, I am cannot predict the future. But at the moment, he is the older brother I never had.
