At Little Penang Street Market, Upper Penang Road

The Top-spinning Competition & Demonstration will be performed by a 20-person troupe from Kelantan,

the Persatuan Gasing Uri Negeri Kelantan, Malaysia’s first and only top-spinning society,

who are making their first public appearance in Penang.

The cultural event is sponsored by the National Heritage Department (Jabatan Warisan Negara).

Top-spinning from Kelantan!

Competition & demonstration, the audience can also play!
Large gasing timah, 24-inch circumference, 3-4 kg, spinning for more than 2 hours
Silat Tari, Kelantanese martial arts
Kelantanese music for wayang kulit
Exhibition of traditional mats and other handicrafts from Kelantan

Gasing Program

The top-spinning will start at 11am and carry on into late afternoon.
