Beaming…

As a writer, I cannot be more proud when a reader comes up to me and tells me that he enjoys reading my blog.

He compares my site to many others he has read and found mine not only interesting but thought provoking. I know that I have people who are frequent visitors to this page and will leave a comment or two. But to have a person telling me it face to face, is like… (Well for once, I am speechless)

To this young gentleman, thank you for supporting this blog.

I am glad that my daily ramblings or act of craziness can help brighten someone’s day or night.

However, it does make me wonder if what a friend of mine, told me was true. That I spent too much time and effort on my blog instead on working on my previous relationship. (Just for those of you who do not know, I am here in Malaysia, while lover boy was all the way in United States) Apparently, the blog was the break down in my communication with him, thus turning into the catalyst for my break up. Interesting, isn’t it?

With the recent events that came into play, I did ponder that. What if I had not write my blog? What if I actually wrote e-mails to my ex instead? What if this… What if that… Yes the many what ifs that comes to play when one’s mind is confused.

However, being a person who see writing as a mean of keeping sane. It is necessary for me to blog. Though many say that blogging has now surpassed the traditional journalling or diary writing, making daily entries accessible to almost every Tom, Dick and Harry. Or the typical Malaysian, Ali, Ah Chong and Samy. It is not destructive. Well unless the content in the blog has malicious intent.

Blogging helps one tell their stories. It is a healing process. Though some are more open than others. It depends on the individual. Everyone has a story to tell, it allows people to take a peek into their lives. Some stories are true, some stories are not. Nevertheless, most stories are interesting.

I am a storyteller. I tell tales of my experience. Of things I like or dislike. Of things that interest me, or could drive me up the wall. I tell my stories to educate, entertain and enrich one’s life. There is much to learn from each individual and the problem is there is so little time.

As a storyteller, it is important for me to consider what I am writing. How will this strike an interest? The first thing that came into mind is that I must find a name suitable for the site. For me, I named my site after much though and consideration. If I were to leave the world, unexpectedly, I want people to go back and find out more about me. Who is the real Adeline Ong? How was she like? Did she even have feelings? What are her worries? etc etc

That gave birth to, THE LIFE AND MIND OF ADELINE ONG.

I am not showing off my life (If you believe it is great) or asking for your sympathy with my not so perfect life (If you think mine is in the dumps). I just want to share a little bit of me.

And if, in the process, a reader is inclined to be affected from the words of Adeline Ong…

So be it…
