I have started to go a bit greener than usual.

NO!!! I am not turning into a Martian. (Though that would be totally WICKED!!!)

I noticed that many have not been recycling so I have decided to do my part by cutting down on my paper usage in the office and in class. Since the office does not have a proper recycling scheme. I am thinking of actually lugging some of the paper for the charity near my home. Despite the fact that some argue about information leakage, the cool part is, it won’t happen with this particular pile of stuff.

I have been recycling for as long as I could remember but apparently, my little efforts here and there are not helping much. So I got to kick it up a notch. Back in Uni, the Buddhist club did a marvellous job with recycling. I hope it is continuing back there. We help support a local hospice there.

Last Sunday, I was part of the Freeze For World Earth Day. My second Freeze of the month. Yup, I was part of the first one too. (Will be posting the pictures, if any, soon) Anyway, back to Earth Day. I am not sure if we made much impact but if it caused an awareness, I guess my duty is done.

Yup.. delayed photography. That is what I am terming it now.
I am considering of getting a camera but not sure which one. Any tips people?

Matahari Books seeks entries for New Malaysian Essays 2!
Yes, we aim to publish maybe 8 people this time. The cover art has been chosen. Each essay,
either in English or Malay, should be between 5,000 to 15,000 words.

Among the stuff he want to see:
- National Service, written from the POV of someone who just went through it
- Contemporary architecture
- Life in a Malaysian jail or drug rehabilitation centre
- Dating rituals (urban or rural, straight or gay, or maybe all together).
- An essay that can be told mainly through pictures
- A biography of someone you think we should all know about
- A comparative thingamajic between Malaysia and a neighbouring country
- An extended, perhaps investigative, rumination on a single local song, film, painting, poem.
… but open to suggestions.
Absolute deadline 31 August 2008. But email me much earlier ( matahari.books at gmail.com )

The book is due in stores in early 2009. The good news is that some stores have already placed advance orders!
